Getting Energy......

Happy New Year to everybody! A new and so far unspoiled year is ahead of us. With all its opportunities and challenges. This needs energy, creativity and get-it-done mentality. If we all are loaded with that nothing can easily come in our way. At least I feel it personally that way. At the same time I want to use the new year to systematically "collect nice experiences". In all fields.

Comrade Putin celebrated the new year by cutting the gas deliveries to his not-so-good-friend Yuschenko. After he had reduced the price for Ukraina just before the elections a year ago - obviously to help his own candidate. What a shame in the 21st century.

My view is that it is upon time that Europe gets its act together - also on ENERGY. We fell flat on our faces in the 70ies, when the Arabs turned on the oil pressure. We can now easily be put into a similar situation, if Putin and his "politbureau" decide to use the gas to corner us again.

I VERY much agree with the anti-nuclear movements in the 60'ies: "Use nuclear only for peaceful purposes"! Yes, let us then DO it. Fortunately, I live in a country where the very, very clean nuclear energy plays a major role for our (by the way: cheap!) energy supply. For me it is not new, but clear: Europe must go nuclear!
